A testimonial for a friend whom I'll never see again.

Andy Teh
(1981 - 2005),

I will remember our childhood. All the time we spent together. All the things we do together. And all the games we played together when we were young. Those days are one of the best days of my life.

I am really grateful to have you as a friend, as a companion, and help me to create such a memorable childhood.

It's so hard to swallow the fact that you're now gone. Someday, somehow, we'll have to accept it. Maybe God have better plans for you.

No matter what, we'll be Friends Forever. Will never forget the time we had when we were young.

I've known your family since young, and I know your dad is a very strong man. He'll get thru this. Please give more strength to your mum and help her go thru this.

Not only has your family lost a great son and joker brother, I've lost a great friend too. You've left me with tonnes of memories, all of them good ones. Thanks for all the memories. All the marbles, video games, cycling-around-the-neighbourhood, one-on-one soccer, and all.

God bless you, and rest in peace.

Love,
Lip Keng

Black day.

26th November 2005. Saturday.

Today I was met with two similar bad news. One not so significant to me, but another one...I'm still trying to come to term with it.

When I saw the headline on Soccernet stating, George Best 1946 - 2005, straight away I knew Best has lost his fight with long term illness. He passed away yesterday nite, about 8 something (Malaysian time). He is a true Manchester United legend. One of the best footballer of all time. Some even argue that he could have overtaken Pele, had Northern Ireland has a team strong enough to compete in the World Cup.

This news of George Best demise is still ok with me, as he has been hospitalised for quite some times, and even the doctor treating him says that he may be gone anytime.

I got the worst news today when I received a call from my bro this morning. He told me that Andy has passed away in a car accident, while on the day back from Genting.

Andy is a very close childhood friend of mine. We were good friends in primary school. I know his parents, his bro and his sisters, and even his grandpa, as I used to hang around his place, especially during school holidays when I normally stay overnight at his place.

We've done so many things together, from climbing over the fence into the kindergarten next to his house and play a one-on-one soccer to stealing stuff from the shop next to his father's shop. Those we one of the days.

We'd go to school together in the morning as we stay near to each other. His father will fetch us to school in the morning, and my mum will pick us up in the evening. We hang out together. Go cycling around the neighbourhood. He has been one of the good friend of mine.

The last time I see him was just few months ago, and he sms-ed me not long ago too. And now he's gone.

I couldn't attend his funeral. My luck this year is not that good, and I'm not suitable to attend this kind of ceremony. Will go back to hometown next week, and pay his parents a visit.

...to be continued...

Posted in a forum by me..

I posted this in a forum where we are talking about Proton Savvy AMT...ehhehe...

we all must make jokes of proton...becos they sucks kau kau...

sucks to the max...sell stupid cars to us malaysia...

sawi design damn cacat...like this also they dare to produce...and somemore dare to say the car good until like some super car...in fact it's an overpriced-stupid-muthafuking-cacat-design car...

look at their sales against MYVI...so appalling...then they come out with the reason that they are in different market segment...DOH...when buy small car...i think ppl don't really care if it's 1.2 liter or 1.3 liter...

just ask yourself...when you want to buy a small car...will you say Sawi is 1.2 liter...so you don't wan...you want to buy Myvi...cos it's 1.3 liter...do you? no...most ppl couldn't care less...(i said "most")...in fact...the main reason why sawi sales so bad is becos their design so damn cacat...until ppl want to puke...and quickly rush to buy Myvi...

even those who don't want to buy any car...when they see Sawi...they will have the urge to go to perodua and order myvi...wt f....

and another thing is the Gen.2 also damn cacat car....design also cacat...car no power....outdated design...even though Waja is a very much older car than Gen.2...i'd still buy Waja...if I'm going to buy a proton car...damn sohem designers in proton...and donno where they get this stupid idea to call the car Gen.2...cacat to the maks....ask them go back home and fly kite better...those muthafakka in proton...

that mahaileel also one sohem fella...their proton sawi ad do until like that sawi is some spesiel car...but turn out to be shit car...maybe they also know it's a shit car...that's why they do their ad like that...didn't show the full body of that car...they close with cloth and only show you part of it...

and very obvious that the ad is targeted at Myvi..when they say "luckily bla bla bla didn't order the other car"...isn't it obvious that the "the other" car is myvi...and when their sales do badly...they still dare to come out and say "sawi and myvi is in different market segment"..what are muthafakking bunch of @$$holes who think we will believe what they say...bloody hell...they should rot in hell for selling us all this stupid cars...

Wira and Iswara is so damn bloody old already...they still dare to sell..the design always change..change a bit ..then can sell dy...jeebai...engine also so damn old technology already still dare to sell...

and ppl will say.."haiya..if they don't sell iswara...a lot of ppl cannot afford to buy car ler"...

but wat the faak...go back home and think think again...who are those busterd who made all the cars so bloody expensive and unaffordable??? those sonofabitch in proton laaa...they make the car unaffordable to us...becos gahmen..or more precisely..that mahteh guy want to protek proton...so they jack up all the prices of the car like some stupid joybidder...then they keep on producing faaking cheap cars like iswara...then all the stupid bitches can afford..a.nd they think proton is the hero...that make them all can afford a low quality and overpriced dumb car like a iswara...or is it that Saga...the new ones...well...watderfaak....

Just read.

A balanced life. What is a balance life to me? How do you define a balance life? How do you know that the life that you are living is balance?

Does having a stable job and a family means you have a stable life?

Or must you have a highly paid job to have a balance life?

Some people define a balance life as in having a decently paid job and a happy family. It means you go to work in the morning with a smiling face, and you leave your office in the evening, well, with a smiling face! You are happy with your job, and your job is happy with you. Doh!

Then you go home to your happy family. Have house-cooked dinner, do all the lovey-dovey stuff with your family. Opps…did I mentioned family here means your wife and your kids?

Walk the dog.
Bring the kids out to McDonalds.
Bring wife to shopping complexes.
Watch movie.
Read the newspaper.
Read a book.
Et cetera.

Then go to sleep and repeat the same thing all over again tomorrow.

Well, not too bad though, but a little bit routine. To some people, this is a balanced life. You are happy with your job. You have a happy family. Not much problem. Sleep well. Eat well. All is well.

What about my definition of balanced life? To me, just to put it simple and straight to the point, a balance life let you plan your work according to your lifestyle, not planning your lifestyle according to your work.

I’ve read a book, entitled 101 Copy Cat Marketing, and it has one of the best quotation that I’ve ever heard, albeit it’s a simple one. It says, “To plan your work around your golf, rather than to plan your golf around your work.”

This quotation really inspired me and I think it’s fabulous. I wouldn’t say it balances my life. But certainly, in these kind of situation, I will have control of my own life, and I will definitely be able to balance my life.

I can decide what I want to do, and do what I want to do. Not to do what other people want us to do.

More too often I find that people do not actually have a say in their life. It’s funny how people succumb to this kind of living and they find it acceptable. Is it because everyone is living like this, and so they think it is normal to live like this?

Ouch!

I find it so sad to live in such condition. It’s a zone of living that we call “Comfort Zone”. You are comfortable with what you are having right now. A stable job. A stable income every month. Problems free.

I am someone who wants to live my life the way I want to live. Just to quote Jon Bon Jovi,

“"It's my life, It's now or never, I ain't gonna live forever, I just want to live while I'm alive."

A balanced life to me is a life where you do what you want to do, and you are happy doing it. Yes! That includes if you think that the routined life I mentioned earlier is what you want to do, and you are happy doing it, then you are living a balanced life.

Everyone has a different mission in their life. How they want to live their life. How they want to go about with their life. So to me, there’s no definite definition of a balanced life. However, there are definitely a definition for imbalanced life.

Imbalanced life is when you are too focussed on something that it basically takes over your life. Imagine working 24/7. Bringing your work home to do at night is already bad enough, let alone doing it on the weekend! Don’t these people have life?

I’m not totally against working. Just that I found out that if you don’t do something, one day, the work is going to consume you.

If you don’t do something, and just continue to work, one day your work will become so indespenseable. You will reach a state where you could not afford to lose your job! I am very sure that a lot of people out there are facing this dilemma where they can’t afford to lose their job, even for one month.

Reasons?

Commitments – family, bills, car loans, house loans, kids’ education, bills, expenses, bills, and more bills. Did I mention bills?

The more commitments you have, the more indespenseable your work become. Even losing it for one month, you might risk losing your car, your house, whatever. You might even lose your mind! Or you might as well lose your life.

It’s even worse if you are in your mid-life. Losing your job is as good as losing your life. Your chances of finding another employment is harder than finding the needle in the hay. Ok, it’s a little exxagerated. You might still get a job, but it’s tough. Really tough. And you might end up as a security guard.

It’s a truth. It’s the horrible truth. Yes, we are still young, and there is not a need to think that far. But, when the need arises for you to think, it’s too late. You are already a security guard.

So, what is a balanced life? To me, a balanced life is when you are doing what you love to do. When monetary issues are not issues at all.

You plan your work around your golf, and not your golf around your work.

When you have that kind of freedom, you can balance whatever you want to balance.

Doh.
