Cameron Highlands.

Ok..here we go...let's have a brief posting about my trip to Cameron.

I was surprised when Evon's mom asked if I'm free on the 13th, 14th and 15th of July. She said that Evon's dad will be going down to Cameron for a golfing trip with his golf buddies. To be frank, I was reluctant to go at first. Not that I'm afraid of her dad or what...but..the road to Cameron never fail to make me feel nausea. Adding to that is my dislike for long distance journey, where you are stuck in a car for a long period of time without knowing what to do except listening to the radio or cd or chatting.

Well, unconsciously, or blindly i've agreed to go on that trip. Besides, Evon's dad is giving me some small lessons on golfing. So, i thought why not just join them. Unfortunately, the golf course there do not have a driving range! Whatever. I'd rather be hanging around with Evon, than be in the driving range.

The journey to Cameron is a long long wan. Very much longer than I expected. I've not been to Cameron like for ages, probably since primary school. From KL going down to Tapah, which is about more or less 1 hour from my hometown!! Then we stopped by in Tapah to meet up with Evon's dad's friends. Had a drink at one of the coffee shop, ya'know, those old fashioned kind of coffeeshop. One of my all time fav!

And those golfers are a real bunch of craze. They stopped at the foothill, at one of the badly set-up with banana leaves and tree branches stall to have durians and mangosteen. Durians. Yucks! I used to eat durian when I was younger, but somehow, grew up to dislike it becos of it's strong yucky smells.

I slept thru most of the time during the trip, as i'd mentioned earlier, I hate long journey. By sleeping will help to shorten the journey. Doh!

That morning we left Evon's house at about 6:30 am to 7 am. Don't really keep track of the time. And when we reached Tanah Rata, it's already lunch time. We stayed in a private apartment, which are meant only for members of some travel clubs. Two apartments, with 3 rooms, and 1 living room each. Quite comfortable, and reasonably clean.

So we unpacked our luggage into the apartments. Bla bla bla...and went out forl unch at a nearby restaurants. After lunch, the golfers went golfing, leaving, me with Evon, her mum, and another golfer wife who don't do golf. We went around the row of shops, mini markets, to buy extra things for the steamboat later that nite. We also went for a ride up to Brinchang, visited the Cactus Farm, some stalls selling strawberries, and etc etc.

That first nite we had steamboat! Ok, so we had a decent variety of fooooods. And the most popular and glamorous balls!! We have fish balls, meat balls, crab balls...whatever ball. But we do not have the well-known, South Park's Chef, Chocolate Salty Balls. :(

Ok, I think I need to cut short my blog here. Cos I have two more days to write. That night after the steamboat we went out for a walk. And took some pictures.

The next day was very much the same stuff. Morning. Breakfast. Golfers go golfing. Let those who don't golf, (i'm a beginner) go jalan jalan around cameron. Went down to brinchang again. Stopped by Kea Farm, buy stuff, strawberries, bla bla bla...
the dried strawberries is darn nice. Hehehe..but it taste just like some of the dried sour junk food.

There's not much happening in Cameron. It's a quite town. Chee Onn told me there's a pasar malam every night in Brinchang. We went up to Brinchang, we found no pasar malam, but a quiet town where Secret Recipe closes at 9pm. According to my bro-in-law, there is a pasar malam there, as he went up to Cameron, for golfing trips too last week. Maybe now the pasar malam only held on weekend.

The last day was really bad. I mean, the journey down from Cameron. I feel nausea from the moment we start the trip down. And they keep on stopping at those roadside stalls, buying petai, durians, mangosteen, or whatever fruits or food they sell there. They stopped at least 5 times! I was just wishing to reach home ASAP.

Overall, it was a nice trip. Evon and I both shut down our phones. Just to avoid ppl from the office from calling us during our off days. ;) We're totally relaxed during this three days break. Just hope we can have more of these trips, but definitely not to Cameron. My stomach is just no match to the long and winding road. Probably this going to be my last trip up to Cameron. Unless, my sister gives me a good feedback on the new road to Cameron. My sisters are going up to Cameron again this coming August.

D'uh

So I nearly forgot about blogging. D'uh. It starts since I went down to Cameron Highlands for holiday on 13th of July until 15th of July. I was on a total holiday for this three days, and I wanted to write about my trip to cameron, but somehow forgot about it until now. Gonna write about my cameron trip later. kinda busy right now with work.

work. sucks. when you put these two words together, they are like a match made in heaven.

Boffins create zombie dogs

SCIENTISTS have created eerie zombie dogs, reanimating the canines after several hours of clinical death in attempts to develop suspended animation for humans.

US scientists have succeeded in reviving the dogs after three hours of clinical death, paving the way for trials on humans within years.
Pittsburgh's Safar Centre for Resuscitation Research has developed a technique in which subject's veins are drained of blood and filled with an ice-cold salt solution.

The animals are considered scientifically dead, as they stop breathing and have no heartbeat or brain activity.

But three hours later, their blood is replaced and the zombie dogs are brought back to life with an electric shock.

Plans to test the technique on humans should be realised within a year, according to the Safar Centre.

However rather than sending people to sleep for years, then bringing them back to life to benefit from medical advances, the boffins would be happy to keep people in this state for just a few hours,

But even this should be enough to save lives such as battlefield casualties and victims of stabbings or gunshot wounds, who have suffered huge blood loss.

During the procedure blood is replaced with saline solution at a few degrees above zero. The dogs' body temperature drops to only 7C, compared with the usual 37C, inducing a state of hypothermia before death.

Although the animals are clinically dead, their tissues and organs are perfectly preserved.

Damaged blood vessels and tissues can then be repaired via surgery. The dogs are brought back to life by returning the blood to their bodies,giving them 100 per cent oxygen and applying electric shocks to restart their hearts.

Tests show they are perfectly normal, with no brain damage.

"The results are stunning. I think in 10 years we will be able to prevent death in a certain segment of those using this technology," said one US battlefield doctor.

Monday morningzzzzzzzz....

Here we go again... another Monday... another long long week to go... u'll never have to think hard to understand why people have this mood called Monday Blues... Monday is the start of the week... and it is the furthest week from the weekend...

hey! no! it's the nearest... isn't it? it's just right after Sunday! hmmph.. how can it be furthest? well... you know it... it's after Sunday...not before sunday... so near yet so far...there are 6 more days to go..before sunday...and for your information... i work on Saturday too! damnit... whatever...

today's headline on the newspaper is reagarding the under construction NKVE brigde which collapse yesterday at 2pm...hmm... think i do not want to eleborate further on this matter...as we all know...Malaysia Buleh...

oh yeah...another news that I would like to share is about the British GP..surprise surprise...both McLaren is on the podium!!... I'm a fan of McLaren... why? I dunno...when I first started watching F1... i sort of like their colors... or their pit crews uniform...at least I think it looks the nicest and classiest among all... even better than the scarlet ferrari... :p so glad...but sad that it was not Kimi on the top of the podium...else it would have cut down the gap between alonso and him on the championship ranking... however...i believe this going to be a good beginning for McLaren...hopefully both of them can finish on the podium more...Kimi is improving lately...thanks to a better car...but the engine is still a let down...he would have be on top of the podium...if not for the need to change the car engine...which put him back 10 position on the grid...damn...

opps...it's already 10 minutes past 9am...my manager just came in...think I better stop blogging now... !@#$%^^&* work sucks...

Horrific~!

What a horrific news! Terrorists strike again...and for the first time in London.

This incidents brings us back 4 years ago...on September 11...when the Twin Tower in Manhattan were attacked and brought down by two hijacked planes. I remember vividly that morning...when I woke up..was getting ready to go to college...i was brushing my teeth and I realise the television is on...so I went over to the living room to peek and saw my bro-in-law watching the news...when I'm in college...it's already a hot topic...

then there's the madrid bomb blast...i would say this incident in London is much more similar to the one in madrid..both happens to be in a train station...

what a world are we living in now...it's just not safe anymore...i believe more attacks are in the planning...ever since the 911 attack...London seems to be untouched...and who would have thought out of the blue...that they were attacked!!..I have to admit..i was pretty surprised that London was not bombed or touched by the terrorist..as they are the closest confidant..or should i say "partner in crime" to the United States...

so does this london blast came as a surprise to me? i'll have to say yes...i was surprised...after such a long time...well...it's only a matter of time anyway...

next target: Canberra? Japan? Italy? don't be surprised...

nonetheless...we shall pray that all these be prevented in the future...we can't stop it from happening...all we can do is to pray for the victims...tonite..if you are reading this...and know what I mean...before we go to sleep...do a Metta Meditation to all the victims and their relatives...and also to the whole London...may they be well and happy...may they get thru this grief quickly...and may the terrorists realise how wrong they are...

do these victims deserve this? no...i believe no one deserves this...not the civilians at least...and of cos...i don't mean certain ppl deserves it...no one deserves to go thru this at all...but some times...things happens..and ppl have to do certain things to protect their own interests...

so many questions are being asked...and we'll never know who is in the wrong..and who is right..is Bush and Blair wrong? then what about Osama and Zaqarwi? do the American, Spanish and British civilians deserves it? do the people have to pay for what their leaders decide to do? is there a place on earth that is safe? oh..what about Switzerland? i believe..if the terrorist wanted to strike...they will strike anywhere...no place on earth is safe anymore...i'd love to travel to europe and the states one day...be it for holiday...or for a period of working there...but these incidents put me into deeper consideration whether it's a wise move to travel there or not...

parents of students studying in London will be dead worried about the safety of their children...I believe some parents will asked their children to come back...and maybe send them to other places to continue their studies...that is of cos if their parents is f**king rich...

well..i have a friend who went over to russia to do medicine...and only after one year...she realised that medicine is not what she wanted to do...so she came back to malaysia...i bet she must be somewhere in the europe right now...in another universities...trying to find out if the course she's doing now is what she wants or not...talk about being loaded...man..i wish my parents is............

What's life?

Funnily enough...how can someone work until so late...i assume 9 pm something...then come to work at 7am something the next day.. when work only starts at 9am...

don't they have a life? I mean...what about the family? that person I mention here is my colleague..and she's married.. doesn't she have a life? or could it be that...the husband doesn't love her anymore...so she'd rather stays in the office than go home...

hmm...i just do not want to be like this...life's precious...too precious to be wasted in the office...

two days ago...my gf brother's gf father passed away....suddenly.. according to my gf...he was washing his company car...when he felt a sharp pain at his chest...and blacked out...some of the clinics refused to admit him..or even have a good look at his condition...the dad passed away on the way to the hospital..

this just show how vulnerable our life can be...given a choice...i'd love to spend more time at home...with my family...sending my nieces and nephew to school would be even more fun...talking to them in the car...these are really the precious moments...

Think about it:

When you’re old and gray, sitting on the front porch of a nursing home, contemplating how you lived your life, what are you most likely to regret;

Not buying a more expensive home? Or not spending more time with your kids when they were young?

Not working around the clock for that promotion at the office? Or not spending more time with your parents and your friends when they needed you?

Time is our most precious commodity – far more precious than gold – because once its’ gone, you can never get it back!

Oh no! It's already 7:54pm and what on earth am I doing at my cubicle......in the office? Haha... :p

Actually I left the office at 6pm...then went for dinner with my gf...before dropping her off to her dancing class at 7:30pm...I came back to office after that...just for the heck of it..

well, I'm supposed to meet up with jyon at 7:30 at my office...but he called up saying something's wrong with his car...so he wanna go home first before coming down...so here am I at the office...ahhhaha....

and weird enough...those ppl from another department but same floor as me are still around~!!! women will be women...and i feel like I'm at the wet market now...

FOUL-mouthed rocker Liam Gallagher has banned his children from swearing — and is now a regular church-goer.

The Oasis singer says he is “practically a f****** saint” who wants to teach good manners to sons Lennon, five, and Gene, three.

He added: “I won’t have my kids getting lippy. No swearing. I don’t smack either. I give them a dropped eyebrow look and then they know.”

Liam, 32, famous for his booze benders and brawls, has virtually stopped going out and has even been sticking to a healthy diet.

He said: “I want to live until I’m 120 and be near me kids. I don’t go out much now — I’m just loving my kids and eating healthy food. Life’s mega.

“I go to church. I don’t ask for things — I just think. I’m not a God-head. I spend an hour with The Big One. I don’t do confession, I’ve got nothing to confess. I’m practically a f****** saint.”

Despite his reputation for trouble Liam, who is on a sell-out world tour with brother Noel and the rest of Oasis, claims he is a softie at heart.

He insisted: “I am a tender, beautiful and loving guy that happens to slap a photographer now and then because they get in my way.”

Crude prices continue two-day sell-off following Wednesday's data on rising crude inventory in U.S.

LONDON (Reuters) - Oil prices fell below $57 a barrel on Thursday, extending a steep sell-off from record highs after an unexpected rise in U.S. crude stockpiles.

U.S. crude for August fell 76 cents to $56.50 a barrel after a six percent slide in two days from Monday's all-time peak of $60.95. London Brent fell 41 cents to $56.85 a barrel.

Wednesday's weekly U.S. inventory report showed near-record crude imports by the world's top consumer, helping to boost crude stocks by 1.1 million barrels despite refineries operating near capacity.

"Obviously, crude stocks building when refiners run flat-out -- as they are now -- is bearish for crude," said SG Commodities in a report.

U.S. refinery utilization rates rose 1.5 percentage points to 96.3 percent, helping to boost stocks of distillates, the high-demand fuel group that includes diesel and heating oil, the U.S. Energy Information Administration report showed.

The report showed four-week average demand growth for distillates easing to 5.7 percent from nearly seven percent the previous week. Demand growth rates for distillates remained strong enough to cause concern about fourth quarter inventories when seasonal consumption peaks.

Global economic growth
Dealers are watching for signs inflated energy costs are biting into world economic growth, in turn slowing the oil demand growth that is testing global crude production and refining capacity.

Global growth will slow to three percent this year from 4.1 percent last year because of high energy prices and rising interest rates, U.N. forecasters said Wednesday, the latest group to see soaring oil blunting, but not derailing, expansion.

European Union growth expectations may be downgraded should prices stay higher, the European Commission said.

"Now oil prices are at $60 per barrel and that constitutes a real risk for European growth. If this continues, growth rates will suffer," Economic and Monetary Affairs Commissioner Joaquin Almunia said.

Speculative hedge funds, which have been plowing money into a range of commodities over the past two years, sparked this week's reversal partly because of end-of-quarter book-keeping, traders said.

The Reuters/Jefferies CRB Index of 19 commodity futures has tumbled 2.7 percent since Monday but is still up 69 percent from two years ago.

The flow of fresh cash into the benchmark Goldman Sachs Commodity Index (GSCI), the biggest of a range of indices that together hold investment of more than $50 billion, has also slowed compared with a boom last year.

But commodities funds say oil remains a long-term bet for investors seeking to offset the risk of a poor returns in other asset classes.

"The higher the oil price gets, the closer you get to the point where it really damages assets in your portfolio other than commodities," said Jelle Beenen of Dutch pension fund PGGM.

The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries has started talks this week on raising output by 500,000 barrels per day (bpd).

The cartel is already close to full capacity and says refinery bottlenecks are to blame for high prices.

OPEC could decide on the increase this week, pending a cartel study on supply and demand, the group's president has said.

On Thursday, Algerian Energy and Mining Minister Chakib Khelil said he did not think ministers had reached consensus yet on the need for increasing production, but added: "We in Algeria are in favor."

Everyone were fooled...

Haha...so everyone were fooled yesterday by the rumour that the price for petrol will increase. I was told by a friend that it will increase in July few weeks ago. It was really baffling. The price just keep on increasing, and it not likely to stop.

The first rumour was that it will increase 5 cents per liter, which I think is ok. Not as burdening as the 10 cents increment previously. Then late yesterday night, I got another news that they will increase 20 cents per liter, instead of 5 cents. I was online-ing when i heard this new. So I hit the road straight away down to the nearest station. Haha...

How foolish...and today the Pak Lah said that rumours are never correct. Hahhahaa... I could have guess so that there will be no increment. Yesterday, while at the petrol station, my sis asked one of the employee, and they even did not know anything about it! There no letter from the HQ informing them about the increment the next day.

It's a good thing that the rumours are incorrect, at least, for the time being. Well, with the oil now hitting US$60 per barrel, it's inevitable that one day the price will go up.

Based on a research, the earth will be dried up of petroleum in 20 years time. That's why hybrid cars is so popular now, though they have not hit the malaysian market yet.....

In 20 years time, I will be 44 years old. Wonder how that period of time will be like.... hmm.....
